Preschool equipment for children who can walk confidently but have not yet developed the upper body strength or risk judgement of a school age child. Deck heights stay low, climbing routes stay short, and every transition is designed to be reversible so a child who changes their mind can get back down. CPSC and ASTM treat 2 to 5 as a separate design category from 5 to 12, and mixing the two on one structure is one of the most common inspection failures we see.
